With identity theft on the rise, people are relying on shredders more and more often to protect themselves.  The Pima County Sheriff's Department is partnering with Arizona Verified Destruction (AVID) and hosting a 'Shred-a-thon' this Saturday.

North Pima CROP Hunger Walk

The towns of Marana and Oro Valley, and the North Tucson area will be hosting the first North Pima CROP Hunger Walk on March 11 at 2 p.m.

OV seeks applicants for representative to the Tucson-Pima County Bicycle Advisory Committee

The Town of Oro Valley is now accepting applications for a volunteer position on the regional Tucson-Pima County Bicycle Advisory Committee (TPCBAC).  The term for this position expires December 31, 2013.  Applicants must be residents of the Town of Oro Valley.

The Town of Oro Valley receives $16k donation for proposed archery facility

The Town of Oro Valley was the recipient of a nearly $16,000 donation from Pusch Ridge Archers, Inc. on Feb. 23.

The money will be used to purchase fixed-range backstops for the archery range in Naranja Park.

Tucson student awarded special scholarship to attend Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy

A local Tucson student was awarded a scholarship from Honeywell to attend their Leadership Challenge Academy, at the end of the month.

Joyce Cao, a student at BASIS - Oro Valley will attend the Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Planetary Science Institute and the Girl Scouts offer Educational Outreach

The Planetary Science Institute (PSI) is partnering with the Girls Scouts of Southern Arizona (GSSoAz) to offer science-based educational opportunities to Amphi area students.

TSO-Just for Kids in Oro Valley March 3

Tucson Symphony Orchestra will be performing its Just for Kids series in Oro Valley on March 3, one of three presentations taking place that day. 

In the Kingdom of Music, Rhythm is King,  will be presented by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance (SAACA).
