Oro Valley is hosting an Archaeology/History camp for kids | Arts & Culture
There is still time to participate in a unique summer experience from Oro Valley Parks and Recreation, an archaeology/history camp for kids.
This program was a five-week series of camp sessions, that focused on the history of Oro Valley and the Tucson region. Those wishing to participate can still attend the remaining session.
the week long session (Monday to Friday) runs from 8 a.m. to noon. Activities included in the camp are guest speakers, hands-on activities, time-period foods, heritage-themed arts and crafts, dramatic storytelling and much more.
The Steam Pump Ranch, located at 10901 N. Oracle Road in Oro Valley, will be the site of each camp session. Cost for the camp is $55/week for Oro Valley residents and $65/week for non-residents.
One session remains: (July 29-Aug. 2): Oro Valley’s Road to Township – 1960’s & 1970’s
Camp sessions are hosted in partnership with Desert Archaeology/Archaeology Southwest.
