Boy Scouts of America, Catalina Council honors Eagle Scout Class of 2012

Tomorrow night will be a special night for several Eagle Scouts in Tucson.  The Boy Scouts of America, Catalina Council is holding its Annual Eagle Scout and Venture Silver Award Recognition dinner.

This event is to honor the achievements of over 125 young men who have reached the highest rank in Boy Scouts, and one young woman who reached the highest level in Venturing in 2012.

It also offers a chance for the Scouts to share their project details and the requirements needed to attain this impressive goal.  Scheduled to speak will be Rod Pace, CEO of Rosemont Copper and an Eagle Scout as well.  The Master of Ceremony and host for the evening will be Guy Gunther, Eagle Scout and VP/GM of Century Link.

There were over 120 community organizations that received Eagle Scout projects in 2012; in addition to the over 23,000 hours put into volunteering to get the projects finished.

All Scouts are invited to attend the celebration of the Eagles.  Those who achieved the rank of Eagle attend for free, with each additional guest attending for $35.  Funds received from the dinner will go to support the ongoing programs of the Boy Scouts of America, Catalina Council.

WHEN:  November 16, at 6:30 p.m.
